Summary: Casa Vanora sits on a hill overlooking beautiful Bahia San Agustín. The hotel just opened in April 2024 and was only 4 months old when we stayed there. The drive there was a little intense and I would not recommend it if you don’t have experience driving in Mexico. Luckily, the hotel offers a pickup service from the airport in a brand new Toyota Hilux (Tacoma). Just know that I drove all the way there from Oaxaca City, so it’s definitely doable. The beach is roughly 5 minutes walking from the hotel. There are 2 different stairways leading down to the water. The snorkeling here was the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve been to Hawaii and the Caribbean. The restaurants on the beach are great too, especially Mar y Luz. The hotel has a great pool and a rooftop terrace with spectacular views of the bay. Heliomar is the manager there and he was so cool and attentive to our needs. He really went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. His sister is the cook and she’s super friendly and a darn good cook. They offer tasty meals and drinks for a very fair price. They will bring it to your room, but why do that, when you can enjoy it on the terrace? The room itself was great as well, we had a design suite and it was on the third floor in the corner. The views from our room were amazing. Impeccably clean room and you can really feel the amount of care that went into this place. The only concern for us was that they could use some blackout curtains. Overall, 5/5
